Hear About Maritime Advisory Board’s Role at June 10 General Meeting

At ECA’s June 10 General Meeting, Michael Tomasini, vice chair of the City of Annapolis Maritime Advisory Board (MAB), will provide a brief history of the MAB and give an overview of key maritime issues the MAB is addressing. Arrive at 6:30 PM for refreshments and socializing; the speaker starts at 7:00 PM. Location: Location: Eastport United Methodist Church, 925 Bay Ridge Avenue.
In recent months the MAB has been involved in discussions about the City Dock, additional city-owned moorings, stray current at Truxtun Park, public water access, and the City’s Task Force to Study Marine Vessels.
As described in the City Code, the MAB’s duties include providing “expert and informed analysis, based upon marine industry and trade positions and viewpoints, of the facts relating to the marine industry and pleasure boating in the City on relevant matters pending before the City Council, or any City agency, board or commission.”
Since 2003, Tomasini has been co-owner of Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake with his wife Emily. An Eastport resident and lifelong boater, Tomasini is father to one daughter (Josie) one son (Shep) and one Labrador puppy (Davy Jones). He’s also president of the Eastport Business Association.
