ECA Grants Guidelines

The ECA Grants Program supports organizations that improve Eastport residents’ quality of life. ECA invites proposals from nonprofit organizations and individuals who support projects and causes in the areas of education, the environment, general welfare, and civic life.

Grant awards to any organization or project will not exceed an annual maximum of $2,000.

ECA gives priority to proposals that:

  • Best meet ECA’s mission, as stated in the ECA Bylaws (see below)
  • Address an important need in Eastport
  • Are financially viable and maximize the impact of ECA funds in the community
  • Provide evidence of support from and/or experience working with the targeted population
  • Engage in collaboration or partnerships for the best possible impact
  • Demonstrate strong organizational capacity
  • Describe and deliver measurable outcomes

Application Process:

  • You must use the ECA Grants Application to submit your request for a grant.
  • Applications are due March 15.
  • If you received a grant last year (current grantee), you must include in the application a summary of the outcome from your prior grant.
  • To be a qualified applicant, you must state that you are a nonprofit organization or that you are not seeking personal gain, regardless of Federal or State tax standing or determination.
  • If you submit a grant request to work with or on behalf of another organization, you must submit a letter of support from that organization with your application.
  • Submit your completed application to Grants@EastportCivic.org
